Most people set goals in life – both personal goals and work goals. Do you remember how some goals that you achieved in the past seemed to come so easily and yet lately the goals you have set yourself seem to be almost impossible?
Goal Setting and achieving them used to be a cinch.
You just made up your mind that you were going to achieve your goals and then did whatever you needed to in order to get it.
Then later on when you started to have career goals, you gave them a bit more thought and tried to make them S.M.A.R.T.(Google smart goals if you don’t know what that stands for).
Nowadays, when you go after a goal it involves:
- vision boards
- soul searching
- content creation
- content curation
the list goes on. ………
By the time you have finished with that lot you can hardly remember what the original goal was or even why you wanted it in the first place :).
So what’s to be done – How do you achieve a personal goal?
It seems that the simplest method is to:
1 Decide what you want – and envision it
2 Why you want it – and envision it
3 Set a deadline – and envision it
4 Chunk it into a series of very do-able steps – and envision them
5 Take massive action -Just Do It!
